Required Space & Ground Conditions

At Best Party Hire, ensuring you have enough clear, level space is essential for safe setup. This page explains what “required space” means, why level ground matters, and what can prevent a safe installation.

What Does “Required Space” Mean?

The required space shown on our website is the total clear area needed for safe setup and use of the equipment.

This already includes buffer zones, allowing for:

  • Safe entry and exit

  • Safety mats

  • The blower and air tube

  • Adequate space for supervision

You do not need to add extra space on top of the listed measurements — as long as the full required space is completely clear.

Measurements: Feet & Metres

By default, all measurements on our website are shown in feet (ft).

If you prefer, these can be switched to metres (m) using the measurement toggle on the site. Please ensure you are checking measurements in the unit you are most comfortable with before booking.

If in doubt, measuring slightly larger than the stated requirement is always recommended.

Minimum Space Requirements

To be suitable, the setup area must:

  • Match or exceed the required space listed on the product page

  • Be completely clear within that area

  • Have enough height clearance for the equipment

Walls, fences, garden furniture, trees, or other obstacles must not be within the required space.

Level Ground Requirement

Inflatables must be set up on flat, level ground.

The ground must be:

  • Even

  • Stable

  • Free from dips or raised areas

Level ground is essential for:

  • Safe anchoring

  • Stability during use

  • Compliance with safety and insurance requirements

If the ground is not level, we may be unable to set up the equipment.

Slopes, Uneven Gardens & Raised Areas

Inflatables cannot be set up on:

  • Sloping gardens

  • Raised or terraced lawns

  • Stepped areas

  • Uneven or undulating ground

Even a slight slope can affect stability and anchoring. If your garden or area is not completely flat, please let us know before booking so we can advise.

Obstacles & Hazards

The required space must be free from:

  • Trees or low branches

  • Bushes or hedges

  • Garden furniture

  • Play equipment

  • Posts, poles, or fixtures

The ground should also be clear of:

  • Holes or dips

  • Rocks or stones

  • Tree roots

  • Sharp objects or debris

Clearing the area in advance helps avoid delays or disappointment on the day.

Indoor Spaces & Venues

The same required space rules apply for indoor setups, including:

  • Floor space

  • Ceiling height

  • Clear access for setup

Please also consider:

  • Low beams

  • Light fittings

  • Fire exits

If you’re booking a venue, we recommend confirming suitability before making your booking.

If You’re Unsure

If you’re not confident your space meets the requirements:

  • Measure the area carefully

  • Take photos of the setup location

  • Send them to us for advice

We’re always happy to help you choose equipment that fits your space safely.

Why Required Space Matters

These requirements exist to:

  • Keep children and guests safe

  • Ensure equipment can be installed correctly

  • Meet safety and insurance standards

If the setup area does not meet the required space or ground conditions on arrival, we may be unable to proceed with setup and normal cancellation terms may apply.
