Venue Permission & Council Land Requirements

At Best Party Hire, it is the hirer’s responsibility to make sure permission has been granted for equipment to be set up at the chosen location.

This page explains when permission is needed and what applies to council land or public spaces.

Venue Permission Requirements

If your booking is at a venue, permission must be obtained before booking.

This includes:

Village halls
Community centres
Schools or nurseries
Sports halls
Private venues

You must make sure:

The venue allows inflatables or party equipment
There is enough space and height
Access is allowed for delivery and collection
The venue’s rules allow safe setup and anchoring

Some venues may also require:

Proof of public liability insurance
Risk assessments
Equipment specifications

We can provide documents if needed, but permission must be confirmed by the hirer.

Council Land & Public Spaces

We do not set up on council-owned land or public spaces unless written permission has been granted.

Council land includes:

Public parks
Playing fields
Recreation grounds
Public greens or open spaces

Councils usually require:

Formal permission or a licence
Proof of insurance
Risk assessments
Sometimes a site inspection or booking fee

All permissions must be arranged in advance and confirmed in writing.

Without Permission

If we arrive and:

Venue permission is not in place, or
Council approval has not been granted

We will be unable to set up.

In these cases:

The booking may be treated as a cancellation Normal cancellation terms may apply

We cannot operate without proper authorisation.

Private Land vs Public Land

Private land (your own garden or private property):
→ Permission is assumed if you own the land or have the owner’s consent

Public or council land:
→ Written permission is always required

If you’re unsure which applies, check before booking.

Schools, Events & Organised Functions

For schools, fairs, or organised events:

Confirm permission with the landowner or organiser
Make sure inflatables are allowed under event rules
Provide any required documents early

Early checks help everything run smoothly.

Why Permission Matters

These rules exist to:

Follow the law
Protect children and the public
Avoid forced removal on the day
Protect all parties involved

We cannot rely on verbal assurances—permission must be confirmed.
