Power & Electrical Requirements

At Best Party Hire, a safe and suitable power supply is essential for inflatables and powered equipment. This page explains socket requirements, distance limits, extension leads, pedestrian safety, and generator options.

Power Socket Requirements

All inflatables and powered equipment need access to a standard 13-amp mains power socket.

The power supply must be:

In good working order
Available for the full hire period
Dedicated to the equipment (not shared with high-load appliances)

Distance Limits (Maximum 50 Metres)

Power must be available within 50 metres of the setup area.

Longer distances can cause:

Voltage drop
Reduced blower performance
Increased safety risk

If your power point is close to this limit, tell us in advance so we can plan safely.

Extension Leads (Supplied by Us)

We provide outdoor-rated extension leads for all inflatables and powered equipment.

Safety rules:

Leads must be fully unwound
Leads must be routed safely
Trip hazards must be avoided

If leads cross walkways, lead covers should be used.

When planning, consider:

Footpaths and walkways
Doorways and access routes
High-traffic areas

Tell us in advance if lead covers might be needed.

Generator Options (Advance Booking Only)

If mains power isn’t available, a generator may be used—but it must be booked in advance.

Please note:

We cannot arrange a generator on the day
Availability depends on advance notice and suitability
Extra costs may apply

What’s included:

Generator supplied with fuel
Extra 5 litres of fuel included

Generator use depends on:

Equipment type
Location and access
Noise restrictions

Venues, Halls & Events

For venues and organised events:

Confirm socket locations before booking
Ensure power is accessible at setup time
Check if extension leads and covers are allowed

Some venues require power use to be approved in advance.

On-the-Day Power Access

On the day, the power supply must be:

Accessible at the agreed time
Safe to use
Not locked, restricted, or already in use

If suitable power isn’t available and this wasn’t discussed in advance, we may be unable to set up and normal cancellation terms may apply.

Why These Rules Matter

These rules help:

Keep equipment running properly
Prevent electrical and trip hazards
Protect guests, staff, and equipment
Meet safety and insurance requirements
