Privacy Policy
Short version: we only keep the details you give us when you enquire or book, we use them to run your hire, and we never sell them. We handle your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and other relevant law.
Long version: in this policy, "we" means Best Party Hire and the people who work for us, and "you" means visitors to our website and our customers.

What we keep and why
We keep your data when you make an enquiry or book with us, because we need it to deliver and set up your hire. That means your name, contact details, the delivery address and your IP address. We also keep your details for tax and insurance purposes. We only keep data that you give us and that we need to run the business.
How long we keep it
We may keep your details for up to seven years after your last booking or contact with us, mainly for tax and insurance. After that, your data is securely deleted, unless you've asked to keep hearing from us.
Who can see it
Only Luke and staff who need it to run your booking can see your data. Some of the services we use may also hold a copy, such as our website and booking provider, Booking Online Ltd, our email provider, Fastmail, and their own service providers. If you message us on a social media platform, that platform may keep copies of your messages. We don't sell your data or pass it to anyone for marketing.
We may have to share your data when the law requires it, for example for an insurance claim, a tax check or to prevent fraud.
Seeing or deleting your data
You can ask us what data we hold about you, and we'll send a copy to the email address you gave us. You can also ask us to delete it, and we'll do that as far as we can. If you've been a customer, we may need to keep some details for tax or insurance.
Marketing emails
You can change your marketing preferences at any time with the link at the bottom of our emails, or by getting in touch with us.
Cookies
Our website uses temporary cookies so you can place a booking with us. These don't identify you personally. Other companies may also set cookies in your browser: for example, we use Google Analytics to see how the website is used. They have their own cookie policies.
Complaints
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the UK authority for data protection. If you have a problem with how we've used your data and we can't sort it out with you directly, you can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.
