Barford Youth & Community Centre on Wasperton Lane is a nice, modern hall, built to replace the old scout hut. However, the venue does not allow bouncy castles to be set up inside. I think it's to do with the size of a castle and keeping the doors clear.
There's a good-sized outdoor space, which is large enough for most of our inflatables. The outside area is enclosed, and part of it is grass and part paved – we only set inflatables up on the grass. One of the main advantages of hiring a hall for a children's party is having somewhere protected from the British weather, so this is worth thinking about when booking this venue.
For indoor parties, the hall may be better suited to our soft play and ball pools, which we clean with Bio-San between hires, and party games rather than inflatable equipment. The main hall is about 28ft x 39ft and seats up to 70 at tables, according to the parish directory, and there's a kitchen, a bar next to the hall and a small meeting room.
We did a party here with the two working together: Didi cars, walk and ride toys and Happy Hoppers inside the hall, and our Green Combi Castle outside on the grass.
Unfortunately, there's no dedicated car park. There's some on-road parking immediately outside the venue, with space for about three or four cars.
If you'd rather have a castle indoors, the other hall in the village is Barford Memorial Hall on Church Street.
